The gutted hulk of Air Pacific BAC One-Eleven DQ-FCR at Nausori on 22 August 1986. The aircraft had been withdrawn from service because of corrosion in the tailplane yet ironically, the tailplane was the only part of the airframe to serve a useful purpose. As these local children demonstrate, it formed a useful footbridge across the creek in the foreground.Picture: Ron Cuskelly
